Garden maintenance
Regular upkeep for gardens that need more than the grass cut — weeding, borders, cutting back and general tidying, on a set day.

A garden does not need much to stay under control. It needs somebody in it regularly. Left for a season, the same garden needs a clearance, and a clearance costs several times what the visits would have.
Maintenance visits cover whatever the garden actually needs that month rather than a fixed list. In March that is cutting back and clearing winter debris. In June it is weeding and keeping growth off the paths. In October it is leaves, tidying spent plants, and getting the beds ready for winter.
Typically included
- Weeding beds, borders, paths and gravel
- Cutting back shrubs and perennials at the right point in the year
- Deadheading and tidying spent growth
- Sweeping paths, patios and steps
- Clearing leaves in autumn
- Planting up beds, pots and containers where you want it
Working with what is there
Most gardens we take on have something worth keeping in them — an established shrub, a decent hedge, a border somebody planted properly years ago. The job is usually to bring that back rather than start again, and it is worth saying so before anyone spends money on new planting.
Gardens that have been left
If yours has gone past maintenance we will quote a clearance to get it back to a starting point, then maintenance from there. That is a more honest sequence than pretending a fortnightly visit will slowly recover a garden that has had two years off.

Questions about this service
How often do you visit?
Fortnightly through the growing season suits most gardens. Monthly works for gardens that are mainly shrubs, paving and pots.
Do you do planting?
Yes, beds, borders, pots and containers. We will tell you what is likely to survive in your particular garden before you buy anything.
Can you take on a garden that has been neglected?
Yes, but we would quote a clearance first to get it back to a sensible starting point, then regular visits after that.
Do you need water or power?
No. We bring what we need.
