It works far better to agree what is kept sharp every time — the lawn, the terrace, the main borders, the approach to the house — and what is handled seasonally.

With this much mature timber around, we should be clear about the line: we garden. Hedges and shrubs yes; felling, climbing, crown reduction and anything on a large tree needs a qualified tree surgeon, and around the commons some of it may need consent as well. We will tell you when you need one instead of having a go.
Leaf fall
Autumn here is substantial and prolonged. On a big plot backing onto woodland, leaf clearance is several visits rather than one, and worth building into the year.
