A finite job list, with a clear stopping point

A one-off tidy suits a garden whose layout is still accessible but where several routine tasks have built up. Perhaps the grass needs cutting, weeds have spread through a border and the paths need clearing of loose garden debris. The useful starting point is a list, not a promise that the whole garden will be transformed in a fixed number of hours.

Our confirmed work includes lawn mowing, garden upkeep, cut lawn edges and green-waste removal. Describe the jobs you want combined and we will discuss a suitable scope.

Put your priorities in order

If there is more to do than you want to take on at once, separate the essentials from the optional work. For example, access along a path may matter more than an ornamental border, or the lawn may be the main area you want ready to use. These are choices for your garden, not a standard package that assumes every customer wants the same finish.

For each area, explain the change you want. “Tidy the border” could mean removing weeds while retaining all planting, cutting back particular plants or clearing the bed completely. Point out anything that must stay before the work is agreed.

Before a visit for a viewing, gathering or handover

Give us the actual deadline and the spaces people need to use. A clear route from the house to a sitting area may be more useful than spending the whole visit on a corner nobody will enter. If the work relates to a rented property or a shared garden, confirm that you have permission for the changes requested and tell us who will approve the work.

Do not assume the garden will be dry or that all plants should be cut back at the same time. Some tasks depend on conditions and plant type. The booking discussion should allow for those decisions, particularly where mowing is part of the job.

Waste and access are part of the brief

Show where the cuttings will come from and whether there is already material waiting to be removed. Keep green waste separate from other rubbish in the description. Include the route to the road and any narrow doors, stairs or shared entrances. Agree access and waste arrangements with us rather than moving heavy items on your own in preparation.

What to include in a useful job list

For each area, describe the present condition and the result you want. For example, say whether a border needs selective weeding with its plants kept, or whether a path needs to be cleared of loose leaves and cuttings. Add a photograph of each area and mark any plants or features to leave untouched. If the list is longer than the available visit may allow, rank the jobs so the essential work can be agreed first rather than leaving priorities to guesswork on the day.

When another service is a better fit

If dense growth hides the ground or prevents safe access, ask about overgrown garden clearance. If the same tasks return every few weeks and you want continuity, regular maintenance is the more useful conversation. A one-off tidy sits between those two needs: a defined set of tasks, completed to an agreed scope.

Common questions

Questions about this service

Do I have to book regular visits afterwards?

No. This is an enquiry for a one-off job. You can discuss regular maintenance separately if you decide you would like ongoing help.

Can several small jobs be included in one visit?

Yes, subject to agreeing the scope. Send a list and show each area in your photographs so the quote covers the work you mean.

Can you work to a particular deadline?

Tell us the date when you enquire. Availability and the work needed must be confirmed before a booking; an enquiry alone does not reserve a slot.
